San Teodoro lies within the Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo marine reserve. Beaches include La Cinta and Cala d'Ambra and some distance north Capo Coda Cavallo and Cala Ginepro. There is a modern marina and a 9 hole golf course as well as a marine civilization museum with Phoenician, Punic and Roman, Medieval archaeological remains.

Budoni is famous for its beaches and is 11km south of San Teodoro. It has a small town centre and a pleasant beach area Cala Budoni Porto Ottiolu is a modern tourist port, Just south of Budoni, adjoining the beach is the dense pine forest of Baia Sant Anna with plentiful birdlife, including in migration season flamingoes. Nearby is Sardinia's most easterly point Capo Camino
