| Cala Gonone Mountain | Cala Gonone Panorama |
Cala Gonone is about a 2 hour drive south from Olbia's Costa Smeralda Airport. (driving directions). However the journey can be broken at a number of places, the historic centre of Orosei being a pleasant option. As you approach the town you can get some superb mountainous views with Cala Gonone itself at the bottom of a winding road.

| Port Cala Gonone | Cala Fruili |
Cala Gonone is a modern and quite sophisticated resort with hotels, bars and restaurants. There is a small beach near the port area and a short drive (or walk) south along the coast is Cala Fruili; but be prepared for a steep climb down to this bay. It is a popular starting point for more robust walks into the mountains and south along the coast.

| Bue Marino | Cala Luna |
The focal point of Cala Gonone for many day trippers is the port area from where boats can be hired and organised boat trips operate south along the coast, particularly to the famous Bue Marino caves and isolated beaches including Cala Luna. It is also a good location from which to head into the Gennargentu National Park and into the emotional heartland of western Sardinia the Barbagia.
